A full concert report is provided further down this Newsletter.
Few pianists today combine intellectual depth, poetic imagination and sheer virtuosity as compellingly as Cédric Tiberghien. A French pianist with a truly international reputation, Tiberghien is celebrated not only for the beauty of his playing, but for his curiosity, versatility and fearless musical intelligence.
A former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and winner of France's prestigious Victoire de la Musique, he is admired for programmes that move effortlessly between Classical masterpieces, French repertoire and contemporary music. Critics regularly highlight his extraordinary command of colour and touch - The Guardian praising his 'exemplary range of touch and keyboard colour', while The Daily Telegraph described the almost magical expressive depth of his playing.
The 2025/26 season sees him in demand across the world, performing with leading orchestras including the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic, Antwerp Symphony and Bournemouth Symphony, and collaborating with some of today's most exciting conductors. Alongside these appearances, he gives recitals and chamber concerts across Europe's major musical centres, including London, Paris and Milan.
Tiberghien is particularly renowned for his Mozart and Beethoven, bringing a rare combination of clarity, warmth and emotional honesty to this repertoire. His recent multi-season exploration of Beethoven's complete piano variations at Wigmore Hall was widely acclaimed, while his recording of Ravel's Piano Concertos on period instruments was shortlisted for a Gramophone Award, hailed as a 'game-changer' by Gramophone Magazine.
Whether in moments of dazzling virtuosity or hushed intimacy, audiences are repeatedly struck by his ability to make music feel fresh, personal and alive. Hearing Cédric Tiberghien perform Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 promises an interpretation of rare elegance and insight - a performance to savour and remember.
